Because they are fun, kids will remember the Object.
Jesus also used Object Lessons. The Bible calls them Parables.
WHICH CAN BE USED WITH CHILDREN OR YOUNG ADULTS

After you pass the quarter through the hole,
Then tell the kids, "If God asks you to do something that seems impossible,
AND IT MAY BE SOMETHING TOTALLY AMAZING!"
Read Philippians 4:13 again,
The kids will be very excited and want to see the "Quarter"
The Folding Quarter is a REAL U.S. quarter

Show your students the playing card.
Tell the kids,
Place the card into the frame and say,
After the card is at the bottom of the frame, slide the center section UP, and say,
The kids' eyes will now be riveted on the card frame.
Say, "Accidents or drugs or violence can shatter us. But..."
Then start sliding the center section down to the bottom of the frame again.
Continue, "When Jesus comes back to Earth,"
Start sliding the entire card up the frame.
"He will make us NEW again!"
Slide the whole card out of the frame and hand it to the same kid again to examine.
She will find that the card is whole, and is a regular playing card.
The kids will now look at you as if you are a wizard or some other weird thing.
In this way the kids can see how the trick was done,
After the kids settle down,

Let the kids examine the coin again.

THE GOSPEL IN A NUTSHELL
There is one text in the Bible that has the essence of the Gospel in it.
It is John 3:16.

(The $10.00 will be well spent
since you can re-use this Object Lesson for years to come)
You will also need a metal washer that can be purchased for under a dollar
in any hardware store. I use one with a 1/2 inch hole.
Just make sure the "Quarter" will go through.
Show your students the quarter, but don't let them handle it.
Then show them the washer.
"I am holding a REAL Quarter."
(The trick is made from a REAL U.S. Quarter, so this IS the truth)
"Do you think I can make this quarter go through the small hole in this washer?"
"Of course not! Are you stupid or something?!"
You then tell them to watch closely as they will not believe their eyes
at what you are about to do!
and slide it through the hole in the washer.
The slower you do this, the more dramatic it will be.
release the tension
and the quarter will return to looking like a regular quarter.
TRUST HIM.
Because He will make a way for you to do it!
"I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."
so be ready to show it to them.
that has been cut with a very precision tool.
Then a groove has been made around the rim.
A very small rubber band has been placed around the rim in the groove.
This allows the "Quarter" to be folded.
The magic trick mentioned above
comes with extra rubber bands.
You will find this to be a very good thing
because the kids may break the original band
and you don't want them going home thinking they broke your cool Object Lesson!

Let one kid touch the card to see that it is a regular card.
(Choose a kid who will only touch the card
and not try to bend it, tear it, or otherwise destroy it)
"This card represents you or me."
(Be ready for some laughter if the card is a queen and you are a man,
or vice versa, if the card is a king or jack and you are a woman)
"As we go through life, many things can happen to us."
"Sometimes we get really messed up."
Show them how the trick was performed,
by sliding the real card into the frame again.
But this time, stop halfway down so the kids can see
the fake frame piece hidden inside.
and will realize that you're NOT a wizard
YOU'RE JUST A REALLY COOL TEACHER!
say, "No matter what happens to you here on Earth...
God promises,"
Then read Revelation 21:5 again,

that comes with the magic trick with a real coin of the same size -
and replace the plastic nails with some real 16 penny nails -
also you will need a small picture of Jesus)
Let one kid handle the coin to ensure it's a real coin.
"This coin represents you or me."
making sure the lid clicks in the proper position.
"Every time you sin, it's like pushing a nail through you."
Push a nail through the proper hole in the round box.
Make it look like you are having to really push hard to get the nail through.
The first nail will raise the coin on its edge inside the round box.
As you add the second nail, keep making it look like it's hard to do.
Then for the last nails, make it look easier.
"The more you sin, the easier the nails go through you."
Then continue,
"But we don't have to worry about these nails,
because Jesus took our nails."
As you remove the nails from the round box sitting on the picture of Jesus,
Say to the kids,
"When Jesus died on the cross for our sins, He took our nails,
He took our sins."
making sure the coin falls back into place, laying flat inside.
"And we are whole and complete, just as if we had never sinned!"
You don't want the kids running around the church telling everyone
that you are a weirdo who does bizarre things in Sunday School!
"For God so loved the world,
that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him
shall not perish,
but have eternal life."
